USH compensates its host families for every
day that a student stays in the family's home. This means
that you will be paid for every day that a student stays
with you; there will not be any gaps in payment. Once USH
informs you how long the student will be with you for, you
may expect to receive payment for the entire length of the
student's stay. Please note that the amount you will be paid
will be disclosed to you once you speak with USH directly
about hosting. As rates vary by area, they are not posted
on our website. The amount that you are paid per day for
your student's stay is dependent upon a few factors: the
area you live in, the school your student attends, length
of the student's stay, and meal option preference.
Please
note, however, that you will generally be paid on a 4-week
or monthly basis, depending on whether your student is attending
a 4-week program or a monthly class. We will send you your
check, then, every 4 weeks or every month. For example, if
your student arrives on December 10, you will receive your
first check on or around December 10 and if you are paid
every 4 weeks, you will receive another check around January
6 or 7; whereas, if you are paid every month, you will receive
your second check around January 10 or 11.
